Grilled steelhead trout topped with garlic, onion, and lemon zest mixture on a lemon slice bed.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lemon, sliced into thin rounds with the ends reserved
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1.5 teaspoons minced onion
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 filet steelhead trout
Instructions:
  • Grease the grill grate with a touch of oil. Place lemon slices on the grate, slightly overlapping, to create a shape just larger than your trout fillet.
  • Preheat the grill to a sizzling 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a small skillet, warm up the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook garlic and onion in hot oil until garlic slightly browns, about 2 to 3 minutes; then add salt and pepper for seasoning. Squeeze lemon ends over the mixture.
  • Place the trout fillet, skin side down, on top of the lemons, then brush the garlic mixture on top of the fish.
  • Grill trout until the flesh easily flakes with a fork, approximately 10 minutes.
