Delicious homemade Japanese gyoza filled with pork, cabbage, and ginger, pan-fried to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 0.5 head napa cabbage, shredded
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 (2 inch) piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce, or more to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 30 gyoza wrappers, or as needed
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, or as needed
  • 1 cup water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1.5 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 dash Sriracha sauce, or to taste
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, mix together ground pork, napa cabbage, green onions, egg, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, Sriracha, and sesame oil to make the potsticker filling.
  • Lay out gyoza wrappers. Spoon 1 teaspoon of pork mixture onto the center. Moisten edges with your finger or a brush. Fold in half to make a semicircle and press to seal.
  • In a hot skillet, sizzle gyoza in oil until crispy and golden, around 2 minutes. Then, pour water over the gyoza, cover, and simmer until the water evaporates, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer the perfectly cooked gyoza to a plate, and carry on with the remaining batch.
  • Prepare the irresistible dipping sauce by combining soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and Sriracha. Serve it alongside your delicious gyoza for a perfect pairing.
