Halloween swirl cookies with vibrant colors made from Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix, a fun and festive treat for the spooky season!
Ingredients:
  • 2 pouches (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 12 drops purple food color
  • 10 drops orange food color
  • 10 drops black food color
  • 15 paper lollipop sticks
Instructions:
  • Combine cookie mix, flour, butter, and eggs in a large bowl until dough forms. Mix in almond extract and lemon peel. Divide dough into thirds and knead purple food color into one portion, orange food color into the second portion, and black food color into the third portion. Wrap each portion in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a cookie sheet. Divide each color of dough into 15 balls (1- to 1 1/2-inch). Roll each ball into a 10-inch rope, twist one rope of each color together, and coil the rope into a 3-inch round. Place the rounds 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet and insert a lollipop stick into the bottom of each cookie.
  • Bake for 14 to 15 minutes until firm, then cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
