Buttery egg noodles with cabbage and seasoned pork chops in a delicious hot dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds pork chops
  • garlic powder to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • water
  • 1 large head cabbage, cut into squares
  • 1 pound large egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions:
  • Season pork chops with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Heat a greased large saucepan or deep skillet over medium-high heat. Cook pork chops and onion until deeply browned and cooked through, letting them stick a bit for flavorful drippings. Transfer pork chops to a plate and reserve.
  • Pour in the 1/4 cup water into the saucepan, using a wooden spoon to scrape off the flavorful browned bits. Add cabbage to the saucepan and cook it down completely, stirring occasionally.
  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a rapid boil. Add egg noodles and cook for 7 to 9 minutes until tender yet firm. Drain the noodles and toss with butter.
  • Dice the pork chops into bite-sized pieces. Once the cabbage has cooked down, incorporate the diced pork and noodles, mixing thoroughly until evenly combined.
