Prepare ham and cheese sous vide egg bites ahead for a grab-and-go gourmet breakfast!
Ingredients:
  • 6 jam jars
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil, or as needed
  • 2 ounces black forest ham, diced
  • 0.25 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 6 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup 10% cream
  • 0.5 cup shredded medium Cheddar cheese
  • 1 pinch freshly ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Fill a stockpot with water just enough to cover the jars. Then, clip a sous vide immersion cooker to the side of the pot and set the temperature to 172 degrees F (77 degrees C).
  • Coat the inside of each jar generously with coconut oil, then layer ham and red pepper at the bottom of the jars.
  • Combine eggs and cream in a bowl, whisk until smooth. Mix in Cheddar cheese, salt, and nutmeg. Pour the egg mixture into the jars, seal with lids using just your fingertips. Avoid over-tightening.
  • Submerge the jars in a water bath and cook for 1 hour. Use tongs to carefully transfer the jars to a heat-resistant surface. Allow the jars to rest for 10 minutes before opening.
