Indulge in a succulent spiral ham with sweet brown sugar-pineapple glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 pound) bone-in ham
  • 0.5 cup whole cloves
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple rings in heavy syrup
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 (4 ounce) jar chopped maraschino cherries
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 325 degrees F (160 degrees C).
  • Place the ham in a roasting pan and score the rind with a diamond pattern using a sharp knife. Insert a clove into the center of each diamond.
  • Pour the pineapple juice into a medium bowl; mix in lemon-lime soda and brown sugar. Glaze the ham with the mixture, then place pineapple rings on top. Garnish each ring with a maraschino cherry in the center and secure with a toothpick.
  • Roast the ham in the oven, brushing it regularly with the flavorful pan juices, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (72°C), about 4 to 5 hours. Ensure the thermometer doesn't touch the bone and remember to take out the toothpicks before serving.
