Try this delicious and unique ground beef and pepperoni pie for a satisfying dinner option!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  • 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh or 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg or 1/4 cup fat-free cholesterol-free egg product
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1/3 cup chopped pepperoni (2 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup sliced ripe olives
  • 1 cup spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, oregano, salt, and egg. Press the mixture evenly into an ungreased 9x1 1/4-inch pie plate.
  • Top the beef with a generous sprinkle of mushrooms, bell pepper, pepperoni, and olives. Drizzle the spaghetti sauce over the toppings.
  • Bake uncovered for around 25 minutes or until beef is fully cooked and the juices run clear. Drain any excess liquid, then top with cheese and bake for an additional 5 minutes until cheese is golden brown. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
