Delicious Hawaiian beef sliders with pineapple, Sriracha cream sauce, and tangy pickled onions are a must-try appetizer, just prep in advance!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple rings
  • 0.25 cup prepared ponzu sauce
  • 4 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1.25 pounds beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 small red onion, divided
  • 1 jalapeno chile pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.33333334326744 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil, divided
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 6 slider-sized burger buns
Instructions:
  • 1. In a small bowl, combine the drained pineapple juice with ponzu and sugar, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate pineapple rings along with 1/3 cup of the juice mixture.
  • Place the leftover juice mixture into a resealable zip-top bag. Add the steak and seal the bag. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  • Peel and thinly slice onion. Thinly slice jalapeno into rounds, removing seeds for mildness. Mix 1/4 of the onion slices, jalapeno, lime juice, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Let it quick-pickle, stirring occasionally, until serving.
  • Combine sour cream and Sriracha sauce in a bowl to create the flavorful Sriracha cream. Set aside.
  • In a large pan over medium-high heat, heat 1 1/2 teaspoons of oil. Cook pineapple rings until lightly caramelized, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 4 minutes. Set aside. Add remaining onion and oil to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and cook until softened for 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Separate sirloin from marinade. Sear in a pan and season with salt and pepper until golden, for 4 to 5 minutes. Gradually pour in the pineapple juice mixture, stirring until sauce thickens and coats the beef, about 1 to 2 minutes. Take off heat and mix in pickling liquid from onion and jalapeno. Taste, adjust seasoning, and serve.
  • Create mouthwatering sliders by placing succulent sirloin steak on each bun. Add a generous helping of zesty jalapeno slaw, a dollop of spicy Sriracha cream, and a sweet touch of caramelized pineapple.
