Cheesy Hawaiian pineapple pizza pasta bake - bursting with sweet and juicy flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 350g spiral pasta
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 250g rindless bacon or ham, chopped
  • 1/2 x 490g jar cheesy or creamy pasta sauce
  • 230g (1 cup) pizza sauce
  • 1/2 pineapple, peeled, finely chopped
  • 100g (1 cup) grated 4-cheese blend
  • 62.50 ml fresh oregano leaves
  • 2 green shallots, thinly sliced
  • Salad leaves, to serve (optional)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan forced. Boil pasta in salted water until al dente following package instructions, then drain.
  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until slightly softened, about 1-2 minutes. Add bacon or ham and cook until crisp and light golden, about 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • Combine pasta with cheese sauce in a large bowl. Transfer to a 20 x 32cm baking dish. Top with pizza sauce, bacon mixture, chopped pineapple, cheese, oregano, and shallot. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden. Serve with salad leaves if desired.
