Colorful Cheerios® marshmallow snack balls - a fun and crunchy dessert treat.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 40 large marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon green food color
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 cups Cheerios™ cereal
  • Small gumdrops, sliced or cut into pieces
Instructions:
  • Lay a sheet of waxed paper on the countertop.
  • In a 3-quart saucepan, melt butter with 32 marshmallows over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat.
  • Mix in the food color and vanilla until the mixture is uniformly colored. Add the cereal and stir until it's fully coated.
  • Spray your hands with cooking spray. Shape 1/2 cup cereal mixture around each marshmallow. Press gumdrop pieces onto the balls for decoration. Let cool for about 1 hour before storing in a container with a loose cover.
