Elevate your red wine sangria with a festive clove pomander and a splash of brandy, orange liqueur, and fresh citrus for a refreshing twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (750 milliliter) bottle Rioja red wine
  • 0.25 cup brandy
  • 3 (1.5 fluid ounce) jiggers orange-flavored liqueur (such as Cointreau®)
  • 1 large orange
  • 1 large grapefruit
  • 1 large lemon
  • 1 clove pomander
  • ice cubes
  • 1.5 cups lemon seltzer water
  • 2 limes, sliced
Instructions:
  • Combine Rioja, brandy, and orange liqueur in a large pitcher. Cut orange, grapefruit, and lemon into wedges and squeeze juice into the pitcher. Add fruit wedges with rinds. Refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  • Infuse the sangria with pomander at least a few hours prior to serving.
  • Pour the strained liquid over ice-filled chilled glasses, add a refreshing splash of seltzer, and garnish with lime slices.
