Orange-glazed turkey with marmalade, butter, honey, and herbs for a delicious holiday feast.
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons rubbed sage
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 pinch dried thyme
  • 1 (16 pound) whole turkey, neck and giblets removed
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.33333334326744 cup orange juice
  • 0.33333334326744 cup orange marmalade
  • 1.5 teaspoons honey
  • 1 orange, peeled, sectioned, and cut into bite-size pieces
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) to create the perfect cooking environment.
  • Mix sage, salt, and thyme in a small bowl. Rub half of the mixture all over the turkey before transferring it to a large roasting pan.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine butter, orange juice, marmalade, honey, and orange sections. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally. Stir in remaining sage mixture. Brush over turkey, saving some glaze for basting.
  • Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for 5 hours and 30 minutes, basting every 30 minutes. Lightly cover the turkey with foil and bake until fully cooked, basting with glaze occasionally. The thermometer should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) when inserted into the thickest part of the thigh. Rest the turkey covered with foil for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.
