Homemade garlic knots brushed twice with garlic butter.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, or as needed
  • 0.25 cup instant potato flakes
  • 0.25 cup dry milk powder
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup warm water, or as needed
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 0.25 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, potato flakes, milk powder, sugar, yeast, salt, and garlic powder in a large bowl. Mix in water and olive oil until a smooth and elastic dough forms after about 10 minutes of kneading. Adjust consistency with more water or flour if necessary.
  • Transfer the dough to a bowl coated with a hint of oil, cover it, and allow it to rise until it doubles in size, around 1 hour.
  • Smooth out dough and split it into 16 even portions. Shape each piece into an 8- to 10-inch rope and form a knot, tucking the ends underneath. Place knots on greased baking sheets, cover, and allow to rise until fluffy, for about 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Combine melted butter, garlic, fresh parsley, and Italian seasoning, and let the flavors meld.
  • Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C), then generously brush the knots with a savory garlic butter mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Brush with the remaining garlic butter mixture if desired.
