Easy Mexican horchata: Long-grain rice, vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon create a refreshing drink perfect with spicy foods.
Ingredients:
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 cup uncooked white long-grain rice
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Combine water and rice in a blender and blend until rice starts to break up, approximately 1 minute. Allow mixture to rest at room temperature for a minimum of 3 hours.
  • Pour the rice water into a pitcher, discarding the rice. Mix in sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  • Serve over ice once properly chilled.
