Instant Pot® Family-Favorite Chili

Instant Pot® Chili: A classic and beloved dish, made quickly with our foolproof recipe based on our popular Slow-Cooker Family Favorite Chili. Perfect for any occasion, even your next chili competition win!
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb extra lean (at least 90%) ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 can (19 oz) Progresso™ kidney beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen™ organic fire roasted crushed tomatoes, undrained
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Shredded Cheddar cheese, sliced green onions and chopped fresh cilantro leaves, if desired
Instructions:
  • Start by heating oil in the Instant Pot® on SAUTE mode. Add beef, onion, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring occasionally. Turn off the Instant Pot®.
  • Add in the aromatic garlic to infuse the flavors. Mix in the hearty beans, juicy tomatoes, and water for a rich base. Close the lid securely; adjust the pressure valve to SEALING. Choose MANUAL setting and pressure cook on high for 5 minutes. After cooking, press CANCEL and allow pressure to release naturally by keeping the valve in SEALING position. Finish with a sprinkle of cheese, fresh green onions, and aromatic cilantro on top.
