Quick and tasty warm steak salad with customizable ingredients, featuring crunchy jicama for the perfect blend of textures.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup sukiyaki sauce
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger root
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 (1 1/2) pound beef sirloin steak, sliced thinly across the grain
  • 2 heads red leaf lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 onion, sliced thin
  • 1 bunch radishes, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 English cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 jicama, peeled and julienned
  • 6 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
  • 1 cup peanut oil
Instructions:
  • Combine the soy sauce, sukiyaki sauce, water, ginger, and garlic in a small bowl, whisk until well mixed.
  • Place the sliced steak in a shallow baking dish and generously drizzle half of the soy sauce mixture over it. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Assemble the vibrant salad on a platter, starting with a bed of lettuce, followed by layers of onion, radish, cucumber, tomato, jicama, and eggs.
  • In a hot skillet, sear the marinated steak strips in oil to your preferred doneness, about 3 minutes per side for medium-well.
