Marbled chocolate and vanilla tube cake.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 (5.5 ounce) can chocolate syrup
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while you generously grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Then, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt and set it aside.
  • Cream shortening and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla. Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk, mixing until just incorporated. Pour half of the batter into pan. Combine chocolate sauce with remaining batter. Pour chocolate mixture over the other batter and gently fold in with a spatula for a marble effect.
  • Simply bake for 60 to 70 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
