Marshmallow Santas

Fun and festive Santa treats with marshmallow bodies, coconut beards, and chocolate hats are sure to delight everyone!
Ingredients:
  • 10 small pretzel twists
  • 5 oz vanilla-flavored candy coating (almond bark) from 16- or 20-oz package, chopped (slightly less than 1 cup)
  • 20 large marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup red sugar
  • 40 miniature chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 teaspoon pink sugar
  • 10 red cinnamon candies
  • 10 red or green foil-wrapped milk chocolate candy bells
  • 5 large green gumdrops, cut in half
  • 20 candy-coated chocolate candies
Instructions:
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or waxed paper. Arrange pretzels on the paper to create Santa's feet.
  • Microwave the candy coating in a 1-cup microwavable measuring cup uncovered on High for 35 seconds. Stir and continue heating in 10-second intervals until smooth after stirring.
  • Skewer a marshmallow and dip it in melted coating, allowing excess to drip off. Sprinkle with red sugar, then place on top of a pretzel. Add two miniature chocolate chips for buttons. Skewer another marshmallow, dip again, and sprinkle with coconut. Add a touch of pink sugar for the face, eyes with miniature chocolate chips, and a nose with a red cinnamon candy. Place on top of the other marshmallow. Let it cool or refrigerate. Repeat with the rest of the marshmallows.
  • Once the coating is firm, decorate the treats by attaching foil-wrapped chocolate candy bells as hats, miniature marshmallows as tassels, and gumdrop halves as bags using a small amount of melted coating. To create arms, use a toothpick to make a small opening in candy-coated chocolate candies and insert them into the marshmallows with a small dab of melted coating.
