Indulgent holiday side dish: Sweet potato mash with spiced brown sugar, topped with mini marshmallows.
Ingredients:
  • 6 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 0.33333334326744 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
Instructions:
  • Assemble all the ingredients.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • In a large pot, add sweet potatoes and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then simmer on medium-low heat until tender, about 20 minutes.
  • Drain the potatoes and place them on a baking sheet.
  • "Roast sweet potatoes in the preheated oven for 3 to 4 minutes until dried; then transfer to a mixing bowl while keeping the oven on."
  • Mash sweet potatoes until smooth with no large lumps. Mix in brown sugar, allspice, and cinnamon, mashing until well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish and evenly layer marshmallows on top.
  • Bake until marshmallows are lightly toasted, 10 to 15 minutes. Then, broil for 1 minute.
