Delicious, quick Italian-style pizza popovers ready in just 45 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count), softened as directed on package
  • 3 tablespoons pizza sauce
  • 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 14 slices pepperoni
  • Extra pizza sauce, if you like
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400° and let the pie crusts sit on the counter for 15 minutes to soften.
  • Combine the pizza sauce and cheese in a bowl, stirring until well mixed. Set aside for later use in step 5.
  • Unwrap the pie crusts and gently smooth out any fold lines with your fingertips. Use a biscuit or cookie cutter to create seven 3 1/2-inch circles from each pie crust.
  • Halve each pepperoni slice on the cutting board with a sharp knife.
  • Place 2 pepperoni halves in the middle of each pie crust circle and add approximately 1 teaspoon of the cheese mixture on top.
  • Moisten the edges of each pie crust circle with a touch of water using a pastry brush. Fold each circle in half over the filling and crimp the edges with a fork to seal. Place the pizza poppers on the ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake the pizza poppers for 12 to 15 minutes until they reach a light golden brown color. Use pot holders to carefully remove the cookie sheet from the oven. Immediately transfer the pizza poppers from the cookie sheet to a wire cooling rack using a pancake turner. Allow them to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Enjoy your warm pizza poppers with a side of extra pizza sauce for dipping, if desired.
