Whip up a bakery-worthy mock angel food sheet cake in a flash!
Ingredients:
  • 4.5 cups cake flour
  • 4 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 16 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Sift the cake flour, sugar, and salt three times to create a light and fluffy mixture. Gently stir in boiling water and allow the mixture to cool to perfection.
  • Whisk egg whites, cream of tartar, baking powder, vanilla, and almond flavorings until soft peaks form. Gently combine with the flour mixture, then transfer the batter to an ungreased 12x18-inch baking pan.
  • Bake the cake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Allow the cake to cool inverted in the pan with a tea towel underneath to absorb steam. Frost the cake once completely cooled.
