Mulled wine with figs

Cozy up with a glass of spiced warm wine to ward off the chill.
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 750ml btls red wine
  • 1 orange, thickly sliced
  • 6 dried figs
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, mix the wine, orange, figs, cinnamon, and cloves. Let it simmer for 3 minutes. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes to infuse flavors. Strain the mixture through a sieve into a jug, saving the figs. Discard the orange, cinnamon, and cloves. Roughly chop the figs.
  • Distribute the fig evenly into heatproof serving glasses and drizzle the wine on top.
