Irresistibly delicious chocolate and oat slice, hard to resist!
Ingredients:
  • 400g jersey caramels
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) pouring cream
  • 265g (1 3/4 cups) plain flour
  • 165g (1 3/4 cups) Rolled Oats
  • 125g (3/4 cup, lightly packed) brown sugar
  • 4.00 gm baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 225g unsalted butter, at room temperature, chopped
  • 190g (1 cup) NESTLÉ BAKERS' CHOICE Dark CHOC BITS
  • Melted white chocolate, to decorate
  • Melted dark chocolate, to decorate
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C and prepare a 25cm x 32cm slab pan by greasing and lining it.
  • In a small saucepan, combine the caramels and cream. Stir over medium heat for 5-8 minutes, or until smooth. Allow it to cool.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Use your fingers to incorporate the butter until the mixture looks like coarse breadcrumbs. Press half of the oat mixture into the pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes until firm. Let it cool before serving.
  • - Sprinkle chocolate bits evenly over the base, followed by a generous drizzle of caramel sauce. - Spoon the remaining oat mixture over the top and gently press it down. - Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and set. - Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before transferring them to a chopping board to cut into squares. - Drizzle melted chocolate over the bars and set aside to cool and set.
