Delicious pineapple and banana salad, perfect for holidays. Top with whipped cream and pecans for extra delight.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333298563957 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 tablespoon margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (3 ounce) package orange flavored Jell-O® mix
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 bananas, sliced
Instructions:
  • Combine egg, sugar, flour, 1/2 can pineapple, margarine, and vanilla extract in a saucepan over low heat. Cook and stir until thickened. Transfer to an 8x8 inch dish, fold in whipped topping, then chill in the refrigerator until firm, around 1 hour.
  • Combine the orange flavored gelatin mix with boiling water until fully dissolved, then stir in the remaining water. Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until thickened but still soft.
  • Combine the bananas and leftover pineapple with the gelatin, then spread the mixture on top in the dish. Refrigerate for 3 hours, or until firm.
