Indulge in a deliciously fragrant and tender muffin with a delightful sweet and crunchy crust. Yum!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare a 12-cup muffin tin by greasing only the bottoms with shortening or cooking spray, or lining them with paper baking cups. In a medium bowl, combine 1 tablespoon Bisquick mix, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons almonds. Using a fork, mix in butter until crumbly. Set aside.
  • Combine fresh orange zest, freshly squeezed orange juice, a generous 1/3 cup of rich brown sugar, a splash of oil, aromatic almond extract, and a single egg in a sizable mixing bowl. Gently fold in 2 cups of Bisquick mix until just combined, then add a quarter cup of crunchy almonds. Portion the batter evenly into the muffin tin, then generously top with streusel before baking.
  • Bake for 13 to 15 minutes until beautifully golden. Transfer to a cooling rack right away and enjoy warm.
