Crunchy chocolate peanut bars made with Gold Medal® whole wheat flour for a delightful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
  • 1/2 cup chopped honey-roasted peanuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl, cream together sugar, butter, and peanut butter until fluffy. Mix in milk, vanilla, and egg until well combined. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until a smooth batter forms. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 19 to 24 minutes until the edges turn a beautiful golden brown. As soon as it comes out of the oven, cover it with a generous sprinkle of chocolate chips and allow it to sit for 5 minutes.
  • Frost the bars by spreading the softened chips with a metal spatula and sprinkle with peanuts. Let cool completely in the pan on a cooling rack for about 2 hours. Cut into 6 rows by 6 rows to make bars.
