Philly-inspired beef and cheese quesadilla for a tasty twist!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 0.33 cup grated provolone cheese
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch freshly ground white pepper
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 0.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.5 medium thinly sliced onion
  • 4 (7 inch) tortillas
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over gentle heat, melt butter. Stir in flour until fully combined. Gradually pour in milk while whisking continuously until the mixture is silky. Add provolone cheese, salt, and white pepper. Whisk until the cheese melts, and the sauce is velvety, about 3 to 5 minutes. Keep it aside. Prepare your quesadilla.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for 3 to 5 minutes. Season with salt, garlic granules, and pepper. Add onions and cook until soft and translucent, about 3 to 5 minutes, and the ground beef is browned.
  • Discard any excess fat from the skillet with the ground beef. Add the cooked ground beef to the cheesy sauce, then quickly rinse the skillet.
  • Place a tortilla in a nonstick skillet. Spread ground beef mixture over half of the tortilla. Fold the other half over to create a filling sandwich. Cook until both sides of the tortilla are golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  • Slice the quesadilla into wedges and repeat with the rest of the tortillas. Serve promptly.
