Plain Caramel Apples

Fall entertaining staple: Easy caramel apple recipe using caramel candies.
Ingredients:
  • 6 Granny Smith apples
  • 6 wooden sticks
  • 1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
  • Skewer the apples with wooden sticks, leaving 1/4 of the stick out. Arrange them on a cookie sheet lined with lightly greased aluminum foil.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with water, stirring frequently until smooth. Add vanilla extract. Dip apples in caramel, swirling them in the saucepan to coat. Use the edge of the saucepan to remove excess caramel from the bottoms. Place on aluminum foil and refrigerate until serving.
