Tender pork chops seared to perfection, topped with crisp apple slices and a luscious apple cream sauce. An easy and delightful family dinner option.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 large apple - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup apple juice
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions:
  • In a large, shallow dish, mix oil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Add pork chops, coat with the oil mixture, and marinate for 15 minutes.
  • In a heated large skillet over medium heat, sear the pork chops until golden brown on one side for 4 to 5 minutes. Flip them and continue cooking until the other side is lightly browned and juices run clear, also for 4 to 5 minutes. Ensure the internal temperature of the thickest chop reads at least 145°F (63°C) using an instant-read thermometer. Place the cooked pork chops on a serving plate, cover, and keep them warm.
  • Lower the heat and incorporate butter into the skillet. Sauté apple slices in the butter until slightly softened, for about 5 to 10 minutes. Place the apples on the serving plate alongside the pork chops, cover them, and keep them warm.
  • Combine apple juice, cream, and cornstarch in a small bowl. Pour the mixture into the skillet over medium-high heat. Once it comes to a boil, scrape the delicious browned bits from the pan. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes. Serve by pouring the sauce over the pork chops and apples.
