Classic cinnamon-raisin batter bread with nostalgic school cafeteria vibes. Sweet glaze topping on fluffy yeast sheet bread that's perfect for sharing. Timeless recipe cherished through the generations.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
  • 1.5 cups warm milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 0.5 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 4.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, mix the white sugar into the warm milk until dissolved, then sprinkle yeast on top. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes. Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Gently fold in the eggs into the yeast mixture. Blend the flour, salt, and cinnamon together; fold into yeast mixture until velvety. Incorporate raisins. Transfer the mixture into the pan, and coat the surface with melted butter. Allow it to rise until doubled, ensuring it stays within the pan's edges.
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. Combine confectioners' sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl, and mix until smooth to prepare the glaze.
  • Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown. Drizzle with the sugar glaze, then cool before slicing and serving.
