Classic Salisbury steak with savory mushroom gravy: seasoned beef patties in a comforting homemade sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 0.33333334326744 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 0.25 cup chopped onions
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
Instructions:
  • Mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl until well combined. Form the mixture into 4 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick.
  • Brown the patties in a large skillet over medium heat for 10 minutes. Add beef broth, onion, and mushrooms and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes until patties are cooked through. Transfer patties to a platter to keep warm.
  • 1. Simmer the fragrant onion mixture until it bubbles lovingly. Combine cornstarch and water in a dainty bowl, then blend into the onion mix. Continuously stir until the savory onion gravy achieves a luscious thickness for about a minute. Drizzle this delectable gravy over the patties before serving.
