Sautéed green beans with onions and seasoning create a simple, flavorful side dish bursting with freshness.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 shallot, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon soy sauce
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Fill a stockpot with water and bring to a boil. Cook green beans with a pinch of salt until tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Drain beans in a colander, rinse with cold water, and pat dry with paper towels.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and shallots in olive oil until tender and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add green beans, garlic salt, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking and stirring for an additional 5-7 minutes. Serve hot.
