Versatile spiced fruit and nut compote, perfect for winter meals. Serve with breakfast favorites or as a delightful side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 6 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup whole milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 2-quart casserole dish by greasing it or using non-stick cooking spray.
  • 1. Combine apples in a large bowl. 2. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a small bowl. 3. Stir spices into apples until well combined. 4. Add raisins and walnuts and gently fold in. 5. Spoon mixture into prepared dish. 6. Evenly pour milk over the apple mixture.
  • Place in a cozy oven and let it bake for 45 to 60 minutes, until irresistibly soft and bubbly. Give it a moment to cool before digging in.
