Sautéed chicken livers with onions and mixed with chopped hard-boiled eggs in a flavorful chopped liver dish.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • salt to taste
  • 1 pound chicken livers, rinsed and trimmed
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 pinch white sugar
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, gently set the eggs and cover them with water. Once it boils, remove from heat and allow the eggs to sit in the hot water for 15 minutes. After, take the eggs out, cool them under cold running water, then peel.
  • As the eggs cook and cool, warm canola oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Lower the heat to medium-low and cook until onions are extra tender and golden brown, 5 to 10 minutes more. Plate the onions.
  • Sear chicken livers in the skillet until fully cooked and juices run clear, for about 5 to 10 minutes. Transfer livers to the plate with onions and let cool.
  • Combine chicken livers and onions in a food processor until desired consistency is reached. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, season with salt, sugar, and chopped eggs. Refrigerate for approximately 2 hours before serving.
