Quick and easy Hamburger Hot Dish: Ready in 25 minutes with rotini pasta, ground beef, tomatoes, and cheese. A comforting family meal with a side salad.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups uncooked rotini pasta (8 oz)
  • 1 lb ground beef (at least 80% lean)
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded Colby-Jack cheese blend (8 oz)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. Prepare pasta according to package instructions.
  • In a large skillet, sauté beef and onions over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes until beef is fully cooked; then drain excess fat.
  • Mix in tomato sauce, tomatoes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; bring to a lively simmer over high heat. Take off the heat; fold in pasta and 1 cup of cheese. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until bubbly around the edges. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake uncovered for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. Enjoy the gooey deliciousness!
