Try making a deliciously fruity apple cake in just 10 minutes using your slow cooker.
Ingredients:
  • 300g (2 cups) self-raising flour
  • 2.50 gm ground cinnamon
  • 400g skim sweetened condensed milk
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 3 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 520g (2 cups) canned pie fruit apple slices
  • Cinnamon sugar, to sprinkle
  • Vanilla ice-cream, to serve (optional)
  • Caramel sauce, to serve (optional)
Instructions:
  • Prepare the slow cooker by lining the base and sides with baking paper, then securely cover with a tea towel underneath the lid and tie it over the top.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour and cinnamon until well combined.
  • Create a crater in the middle. Combine condensed milk, butter, and eggs. Gently mix until fully incorporated. Fold in the apple.
  • Place the apple mixture in the slow cooker, cover, and cook on High for 2 hours or until a skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Take out the insert from the slow cooker and cool for 10 minutes. Gently loosen the cake with a knife and flip it onto a wire rack to cool. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Enjoy warm, sliced, with ice cream and caramel sauce on the side, if preferred.
