Elevate your slow cooker game with this indulgent deep-dish pizza, taking "pizza nights in" to new heights!
Ingredients:
  • 300g plain flour
  • 2.40 gm salt
  • 2 tsp (1 sachet/7g) dried yeast
  • 36.40 gm olive oil
  • 2 Italian Style Pork Sausages, casings removed
  • 95g pizza sauce
  • 125ml canned diced tomato
  • 100g pizza cheese
  • 50g thinly sliced pepperoni
  • 75g olive
  • 50g cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 green capsicum, seeded, thinly sliced
  • Basil leaves, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Pour in oil and 3/4 cup (185ml) warm water. Stir with a round-bladed knife until combined. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • - Preheat a medium frying pan over medium heat. Cook sausage, breaking it into lumps with a wooden spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes. - Grease a slow cooker and line the base and sides with 2 layers of baking paper, leaving 2 long sides extending 5cm up the sides. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface into a 25cm x 30cm oval. Place the dough in the prepared slow cooker, folding the edges to create a 2cm border.
  • Mix the pizza sauce and diced tomato in a bowl, then spread the mixture over the dough. Top with cheese, sausage, pepperoni, olives, cherry tomato, and capsicum.
  • Cook on high for 1½ hours (or low for 3 hours) until the pizza base is golden underneath. Transfer pizza to a clean work surface using the paper. Sprinkle with fresh basil and cut into slices before serving.
