Thanksgiving Spiced Sugar Cookies: Easy and delicious cookies made with a sugar cookie mix and topped with a sweet maple syrup glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons maple-flavored syrup
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Betty Crocker™ yellow sugar
  • Orange nonpareils
  • Betty Crocker™ chocolate candy sprinkles
  • 24 miniature chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine cookie mix, flour, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves in a medium bowl. Mix in butter and egg until a dough ball forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness, use various cookie cutters to cut out shapes, and place them 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 7 to 9 minutes until edges turn golden brown. Transfer from cookie sheets to cooling racks and let cool completely for about 15 minutes.
  • Combine powdered sugar and syrup in a small bowl and whisk until smooth. Slowly incorporate water a few drops at a time until a thick glaze forms. Spread the glaze over the cooled cookies and top with sanding sugars, sprinkles, and chocolate chips to decorate.
