Spicy marinated pork chops, pan-fried to perfection for a flavorful kick.
Ingredients:
  • 2 medium onions, roughly chopped
  • 6 medium jalapeno peppers, stemmed
  • 4 habanero peppers, stemmed
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 (5 ounce) thin-cut boneless pork chops, trimmed of fat
  • 2 cups water
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 pinch seasoned salt, or to taste
  • 1 cup canola oil for frying, or as needed
Instructions:
  • In a food processor, blend together onion, jalapeno peppers, habanero peppers, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  • Spread a generous amount of marinade in the base of a medium rectangular glass or ceramic container to fully coat the bottom. Arrange 4 pork chops in the dish and drench in marinade. Layer the remaining 4 pork chops on top and pour over the rest of the marinade, making sure all the pork chops are evenly coated. Cover with lid and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  • Combine the marinade and chops in a large saucepan. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Let it boil for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • In a small mixing bowl, mix together flour, onion soup mix, cayenne, garlic powder, and seasoned salt to create the batter.
  • Place the boiled chops on a cutting board, gently pat them with a paper towel to remove excess liquid, and then coat them with batter. Dispose of any leftover boiling liquid.
  • Fill a large frying pan with enough oil to reach 1/4 inch depth and heat over medium-high heat.
  • Sear chops in hot oil until beautifully golden, about 1-2 minutes per side. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure they reach 145°F (63°C) in the center.
