Streusel Topped Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Enhance Betty Crocker mix with apples and applesauce for irresistible apple cinnamon muffins.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (13.9 oz) Betty Crocker™ Cinnamon Streusel Muffin & Quick Bread Mix
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 apple, peeled, cut into small pieces
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 425°F and line a standard 12-cup muffin tin with paper baking cups.
  • Combine streusel mix and softened butter in a small bowl and mix with a fork until crumbly. Set aside for later.
  • Combine the muffin mix, milk, applesauce, and eggs in a medium bowl until just blended. Mix in the chopped apple and evenly distribute the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  • Sprinkle streusel topping generously over batter in each cup and gently press down.
  • Bake until golden brown, then allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
