Ingredients:
  • 20g (1 tbsp) butter
  • 32.00 gm brown sugar
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 golden delicious apples, unpeeled, cored, cut into thick wedges
  • 2 beurre bosc pears, cored, cut into thick wedges
  • 2 ripe carambola (star fruit), sliced
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) unsweetened apple juice
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat a wok over high heat, then reduce to medium. Add butter and sugar, stirring until sugar dissolves. Next, stir in ginger for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  • Turn the heat up to medium-high, then add the apples and pears. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 minutes until the fruits are tender and lightly golden. Introduce the carambola and continue to cook, stirring occasionally.
  • Use a large slotted spoon to elegantly transfer the warm fruit to the serving bowls.
  • Gradually pour the apple juice into the pan while stirring continuously. Raise the heat to medium-high and let it come to a boil. Lower the heat to medium and simmer without covering the pan, stirring often, for about 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and reduces by one-third. Pour the syrupy sauce over the fruit and enjoy.
