Elevate your sauté with aromatic thyme and caramelized onions for maximum flavor impact.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 turkey breast tenderloins (1 1/2 pounds)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup dry white wine or Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 4 large onions, thinly sliced (4 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves or 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Season both sides of the turkey with salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. Sear the turkey in the oil for about 5 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown on both sides.
  • Add wine to skillet and reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes, until the turkey's juices run clear when thickest pieces are cut. Remove turkey from skillet and keep warm.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Sauté onions in the butter for 5 minutes, stirring often. Lower the heat to medium and mix in brown sugar, thyme, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper. Continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions turn golden brown.
  • Thinly slice the tender turkey and elegantly arrange it with freshly sliced onions for a delightful presentation.
