Savory turkey and veggie medley topped with fluffy homemade biscuits.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups baby-cut carrots (12 oz)
  • 2 cups cut-up fresh broccoli
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion (1 medium)
  • 3 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried sage leaves
  • 2 cups cubed cooked turkey
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a 2-quart saucepan. Add carrots and broccoli, cook for about 4 minutes until they are crisp-tender, then drain. Enjoy your colorful veggies!
  • In a 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion until tender, about 2 minutes. Whisk in flour, then slowly whisk in broth and sage. Simmer over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes until thickened. Add carrots, broccoli, and turkey to the sauce. Transfer the mixture to a 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Lay bacon on a microwave-safe plate and cover it with a paper towel. Microwave on High for 4 to 6 minutes or until crispy. Crumble the bacon and transfer it to a medium bowl. Combine the rest of the biscuit ingredients, stirring just until mixed. Spoon the biscuit batter around the edge of the turkey mixture.
  • Bake until the biscuit crust turns a beautiful golden brown, usually taking 25 to 30 minutes.
