Turkey-Cheddar-Chipotle Burgers

Spicy Turkey Cheeseburger with Mexican flair, ready in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 package (20 oz) ground turkey
  • 2 chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (from 7-oz can), finely chopped
  • 3 sticks (1 oz each) Cheddar cheese, cut into 1/2-inch pieces (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, split
  • 4 leaves leaf lettuce, if desired
  • 1/4 cup salsa
Instructions:
  • Preheat the grill. Combine turkey, chiles, cheese, and salt in a large bowl. Form the mixture into 4 patties, each about 3/4 inch thick.
  • Grill the patties over medium heat for 13 to 15 minutes, turning once, until a meat thermometer inserted in the center reads 165°F. Place a slice of cheese on each burger and grill for about 30 seconds more until the cheese starts to melt.
  • Place crisp, fresh lettuce and juicy burgers on the bottom buns, then add a generous spoonful of flavorful salsa on each. Finish by gently closing each burger with the top bun.
