Velvety mac and cheese with creamy cheese sauce, topped with buttery crackers for a delicious dinner.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 0.25 cup flour
  • 0.5 pound VELVEETA®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
  • 0.5 cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 6 RITZ Crackers, crushed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 2-quart casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter. Whisk in the flour and continue to cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  • Slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly until it comes to a boil; continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens, which should take about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Melt Velveeta by cooking and stirring for about 3 minutes. Incorporate cooked macaroni.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared dish and top it with Cheddar cheese. Combine melted butter with cracker crumbs and sprinkle over the casserole.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until heated through.
