Savory cornbread waffles - a modern twist on a classic favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1.5 cups buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
Instructions:
  • Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it following the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and paprika. In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, butter, and egg until well combined, then gently fold into the flour mixture until just blended.
  • Pour a generous amount of batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook until golden brown following the manufacturer's instructions, approximately 5 minutes. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
