Warm apple and pear mulled wine

Cozy up with aromatic apple and pear mulled wine.
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 330ml btl pear cider
  • 750ml btl light red wine, such as pinot noir
  • 1/2 orange, thinly sliced
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks or quills
  • Pinch of ground allspice
  • 1/2 small Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced crossways
  • 1/2 small Pink Lady apple, 
thinly sliced crossways
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, gently simmer the cider, wine, orange, sugar, cloves, cinnamon, and allspice until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Stir in the apple mixture and heat through for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Portion the mixture evenly into elegant heatproof serving glasses and serve promptly to enjoy at its finest.
